Train2Change Fitness & Performance Training

NBBA x Train2Change Partnership

Our NBBA facility, located at 50 Lisbon Street in San Rafael, is a sports-driven fitness center offering comprehensive basketball skills training.
Last year, we partnered with Sports Performance Coach Rob Viramontes, founder of Train2Change Fitness & Performance, to provide the best sports performance training program for athletes ages 8–18.

What Makes Us Different

Most gyms treat kids like small adults or water down group fitness classes — that’s not athlete development.

At Train2Change Fitness & Performance, we’ve specialized in Youth Athletic Development for 25 years. Every session is built around the LTAD (Long-Term Athlete Development) model — a proven framework for helping athletes progress step by step, with the right training at the right age.

And it works. Families consistently share in our Google reviews how their athletes became stronger, faster, and more confident — often returning from injuries even better than before.

Why Train2Change?

Why Parents Choose Train2Change:

  • Trusted Since 2000: Marin’s leader in youth performance training.
  • LTAD Approach: Programs tailored for growth, coordination, speed, strength, and confidence.
  • Injury Resilience: Built-in ACL and movement-prep focus parents consistently highlight.
  • Personalized Coaching: Every athlete receives individual attention, fostering care and confidence.
  • Real Dad, Real Athletes: As a proud father of two athletic boys (ages 7 & 5), Coach Rob understands how kids learn best — through exploration, discovery, and fun.

A Personal Note from Coach Rob

“At this age, training isn’t about weight rooms — it’s about experiencing the world from different heights, speeds, and angles.
I love watching kids discover how their bodies work. That same philosophy guides every athlete I coach: meeting them where they are, and enhancing opportunities for learning through movement, play, and discovery.

How We Train

  • Junior Athletes (Ages 8–12): Coordination, mechanics, and movement skills — setting the foundation.
  • Varsity Prep (Ages 13–18): Strength, speed, power, and confidence for game-time performance.
  • Progress, Not Pressure: Every athlete develops at their own pace, guided with age-appropriate drills and accountability.

The Outcome

Stronger athletes. Safer athletes. More confident athletes.
Not “pro-style workouts” — just youth development done right.

Testimonials

"

My kids, Jocelyn (SR), John (SO) and Michael (FR) are athletes at Marin Catholic HS and have been working with Rob and Train2Change Fitness & Performance the past few months. It has been nothing short of transformative for all three of them. It's way beyond just physical strength and fitness. You've literally helped them shape a part of their identity in the most critical years of their lives as they (and all teenagers) struggle to do that. The positive influences of working with you and getting to know you are immeasurable and will last their whole lives. There's no way I or they can repay you for that. I know I sound dramatic, but I mean every word-- you are doing God's work and have tremendous talent. Keep it up!

In my last year training with Rob, I have gotten so much stronger and seen it pay off in all aspects of my game. So happy we found Rob and that he is part of my journey - our workouts are the highlight of my week!

I am beyond shocked that Hunter is loving working with Rob. I thought for sure that work WITHOUT a ball would not be his favorite. I'm THRILLED about this program and have already told several friends.

Paris and Inka had a blast with Coach Rob. Thanks for making it fun. We've been looking for a program like this!

I’ve seen a big difference in both the boys’ play after just three sessions with you. Porter is working with much more confidence and was super aggressive on defense this weekend. Palmer seems to be significantly faster, actually both of them do, and that’s something they both needed to work on. Most importantly, the boys LOVE their sessions with you. They both leave completely exhausted, sweaty, but feeling very accomplished. Excited to see their continued improvement!

Zach has really liked the program. Coach Rob worked him hard but he pushed through. He thinks it's definitely going to help him with soccer!

Sienna (FR) has had a good experience so far. She told me her legs were aching after, so that is a good sign that she was working hard. She has had really passive gentle coaches in the past, so she said she actually liked that you pushed her to keep working hard. She thought it was a good balance of being strict and hard. Sienna thinks it will help her a lot in track and volleyball. I think going forward she is just looking to continue to build strength and speed. Thanks for all you do!
